I am only a sinner saved by God’s SUPER ABOUNDING GRACE. In a small town in western Kansas I was born in a family of ten children. I was next to the youngest. Our family always went to church.
When I was five years old the Lord brought me through a very serious operation. The doctor confessed to my mother that it was her prayers that kept me alive.
The Lord had His hand upon me during my High School Years, when it is so easy for a young person to follow the crowd. At that time the High School had a Hi Y Club. It was a Christian club that had great influence in my life. I lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota during my grade and high school years. In 1936 I bought my first bakery in Cambridge, Wisconsin. An outstanding event in my Christian life happened one night when I went to a “Grace Gospel Fellowship” conference at Lake Riply Cambridge, Wisconsin, and heard pastors J.C. O’Hair and Charles Baker. Through their preaching and teaching the Holy Spirit opened my eyes to the scriptures so I could understand God’s wonderful plan of salvation.

Soon after that I was inducted into the U.S. Army. After six weeks of training I landed in Oran, North Africa. Now I had the chance to test my faith! Was it real? My little Gideon pocket Bible became my best friend. One Easter Sunday morning at Anzio we had a service in a corn field within the sound of guns. The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
When I was discharged from the Army the Chaplin said that God spared us for a reason. Yes, God did spare me for a reason. I can truly say Christ Jesus love is sweeter as the years go by. The Lord spared me and gave me a lovely wife, “Cina”, and a wonderful family. We bought a bakery in Madison, Wisconsin and in 1964 we moved to Melbourne, Florida and bought the bakery in downtown Melbourne. I have been retired for 25 years. My wonderful wife went to be with the Lord seven years ago.
Give thanks to God, for he is good; His love endures forever!
